Dragon Boat Racing
What is dragon boat racing ? Dragon boat racing is an ancient Chinese tradition with over 2000 years of history, it is now one of Britain’s fastest growing corporate activities. Since 1987, at least 25,000 companies have raced dragon boats and raised more than £12 million for charity.
A dragon boat event can take place on any piece of placid water e.g. river, canal, reservoir, lake, dock, marina with a race distance of approximately 250m and a minimum depth of 3’. Between 2 and 6 boats are usually raced at a time depending on the number of participants, the size of the water space, the time available and the objectives of the client. Dragon boat racing is equally successful as a 2 hour team building session or a full day’s fun event accommodating numbers ranging from 18 to several hundred. |
